NATURE'S SHELTER

I took this photo during one of our relaxing days in the park when we used to spend our summers in Singapore. The air was pretty humid that day (it's Singapore, every day is humid! Haha!) and we just decided to stop going to the shopping districts for a while and actually spend time just chillin' in the park. We were with other family members and we left them at this huge sandbox because they were having a picnic. My sister and I decided to go "get lost" in this huge park and finally found this tree. It was so beautiful that I couldn't stop taking photos of it.

QUIET TIME WITH MY FATHER

I've been slacking off my devotionals lately, and honestly in the back of my mind, I really have been feeling crappy. So, I took the bull by the horns and pushed myself to do my quiet time. I think the reason for not being so eager to do it was because my quiet times, before I stopped doing it was a bit dry and I lost interest in doing it. I know, I know it's wrong to resort to not spending my time learning about God and His Word. But I am human and I make bad choices. Which now has left me in the dark and feeling useless.

I took this photo from our trip to Cebu around August 2012. It has been a while since I've been back home... 13 years have gone by to be exact! It was at this time when Dad and Mom woke up early to watch the sea and sky which used to be the first thing I saw when I lived here (now you know why I've always wanted to be a mermaid!).

I loved living in the tippy top of the island of Cebu... it was peaceful, quiet and frankly, life really seemed less complicated than it really seemed when you live in the big city like Manila.

For 5 consecutive days, I'll be posting 5 B&W photos which I took myself and at the same time nominate one of my friends to do the challenge too! This is normally done on Facebook and Instagram but like Louise, I shall blog about each photo that I will post... So that you, dear reader may know what is so special about the photo.

Let me start...

I've been wearing prescription lenses since 1st year of college and honestly, when I got to realize that I truly needed them... I broke down and cried because I knew that my eyesight was going bad from then on. But I also realized that things could get worse for me in this department... I could go blind, literally! And so now... I am visually impaired and this could be corrected by these babies.

Since then, I've been changing my eyeglasses once in every year and a half because that's just how fast my eyesight was going bad. But believe it or not, I am thankful. Thankful that I was born in this day and age where corrective lenses were already invented and LASIK is available.

I may give contact lenses a try soon because J suggested that I should. It's because he thinks that having contact lenses on is less of a hassle than wearing eyeglasses. Hmmmkay.

My high school barkada decided to go to Baguio for our first out-of-town trip! Since my family owns a house there, my mom immediately allowed me to go despite of her being so overprotective. We left Manila at around 6AM. Those who were on the road trip were 3 couples and 2 single ladies: Petra and Kerwin, Carla and MV, Unikka and Luigi, then the single ladies were Antonette and yours truly! Together with my friends, we had a driver which was provided by my friend's dad... he was the one who drove us from Manila to Baguio and also around the "Summer Capital of the Philippines".

After a few hours on the road, we had our stop-over at a gas station along NLEX which had a McDonald's because some of my friends have not yet tried the Twister Fries at that time.

Then a few more hours of driving ahead of us, we proceeded to listening to music of the 90's and Disney soundtracks and actually singing loudly to them. Some of us dozed off at some point of the trip (I was one of them). *Note to self: On a road trip with friends, never fall asleep. They will take embarrassing photos of you.*
